Event Photography Builds Memories

Event Photography-Making Memories

Legacy at Georgetown

Family ElderCare

The work and art of a photographer is more sacred than most of us realize.

The images captured by portrait photographers and event photographers become priceless memories, and are sometimes the last memories created. The images become something to be held onto forever.

How Do You Define Time?

Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines time as a non spatial continuum that is measured in terms of events which succeed one another from past through present to future.

I see time as 'blocks of memories' with each block sitting upon and leaning along side another one. The blocks build upon another to tell a story. Images and photographs are like building blocks-each important on their own and yet together they create their own sacred story . When we look at an image we have memories of that ‘time.’

These memories ignite all our senses. In the case of the lovely holiday party at Legacy of Georgetown, I remember the sounds of the laughter, the feel of hugs, the sharing of smiles, the excitement over the upcoming holidays and the aroma of the prime rib as it came out of the oven. The event was also an opportunity to raise funds for Family Elder Care. I saw faces who have been around for many holidays, and I could only imagine what memories and blocks of time from holidays of the past floated through their minds. There are so many joys in event photography for me. It was even more fun because beautiful donated wreaths were auctioned. I was happy to take one home!

Family ElderCare

For this wonderful event, Legacy at Georgetown teamed with Family Eldercare to raise funds for Family Eldercare by auctioning beautiful wreaths. I-Carmen Buck Photography- even made one and donated it. Glue gun, crafts...not really my thing, but I did it!

More About Family Eldercare

Family Eldercare is a non profit organization which was founded in 1982 by a group of professionals concerned with supporting the family’s role as caregiver for frail elders through training and information. The agency soon expanded to include services to prevent abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of elders and adults with disabilities. Almost all services that Family Eldercare offers are unduplicated.  Please visit their website for more information.
